Tyler Smarslok returns for his second season as an assistant in 2016.

Smarslok was a four year member of the Cougars having played in 188 of the team’s 203 games during his four year career.  He started 178 times, including an impressive 108 in a row.  Smarslok wrapped up his career with 122 runs scored, 58 walks and 44 sac bunts.  He was hit 53 times, including a record four times an NJAC tournament game his junior season.  He earned first-team All-NJAC, All-NJCBA and All-ECAC honors and became the sixth member of the program to earn a Rawlings National Gold Glove for his play in the field as he committed just 3 errors in 249 chances during his junior season.

He graduated with a bachelor’s of arts degree in global fitness and wellness from Kean in 2015.
