The Kean University athletics department announced the hiring of Danielle Todman as the head cross country coach ahead of the 2022 season. Coach Todman officially restarted the outdoor track and field programs ahead of the 2024 season. Todman enters her fourth season as the cross country head coach in 2025 and her third season as the head coach of both the outdoor track and field teams in 2026.

In the 2025 Track & Field season, Coach Todman earned her first All-Conference selection as Buddha Payne was named to the All-NJAC second team selection in the discus throw.
In the 2024 cross country season, Kean won their first meet since 2003 on the men's side taking the Aggie Invite to open the season. The Cougars earned three NJAC weekly selections as both teams earned USTFCCCA team academic awards to wrap up the season.
In the 2023 cross country season, the women's team took home a USTFCCCA team academic award.
In the 2022 cross country season, Coach Todman earned her first NJAC weekly awards (William Mitchell & Nancy Martinez), while the women's team took home a USTFCCCA team academic award. In the offseason, five Cougars were selected to the CSC Academic All-District.
"I am honored to be a part of the Kean community and I look forward to guiding the Cougars into an NJAC force", said Todman. "I always live by a philosophy of work your process, trust your process, so you can walk in your promise".
Todman comes to Kean after being a Track & Field assistant coach at Essex County VoTech High School (Newark Tech) in Newark since 2016. Her responsibilities included recruiting and maintaining the appropriate number of student athletes, developing and maintaining the skill, discipline and integrity of the team during meets and practices, providing leadership and instruction in personal and athletic development of student-athletes and coordinating with other offices on campus.
She has an extensive military background in the U.S Air Force. Since 2006, she is a non-commissioned officer in-charge for the Mortuary Affairs and Honor Guard and a Base Fitness Program Director.
An athlete herself, Todman competed on the women's track and field team at Bucknell University from 2003-06. During her time with the Bison, she was an All-Patriot League second-team selection in 2005 and currently holds Top 10 records in the 55-Meter Dash, the 55-Meter Hurdles and the Shuttle Hurdles relay.
Todman graduated from Bucknell in 2006 with a B.A. in History. She also earned degrees from the Community College of the Air Force (A.A.S, Restaurant, Hotel & Fitness Management, 2010), Penn Foster (B.S. Fitness & Nutrition, 2012) and SNHU (M.S. Sports Management, 2021)
A 2017 Air National Guard Athlete of the Year and a championship Power lifter, she attended Bishop George Ahr High School in Edison.
