John Liberato

John Liberato returns for his third season in 2016 and will work primarily with the quarterbacks as he handles play calling duties. He was the head coach of Summit (N.J.) High School for seven seasons and also coached at New Providence High School, Hanover Park High School, Parsippany High School and Howell High School over the past four decades.

Liberato has led his high school teams to two state titles and eight conference championships. In addition to football, Liberato has coached wrestling, baseball and track & field at the prep level.

He currently teaches health and physical education at Summit High School and has won numerous awards in his professional career, including being named the 1993 Governor’s Teacher of the Year, the 2013 PAL Citizen of the Year, the 2012 U.S. Marines Semper Fi Coach of the Year and the 2010 NJSIAA Football Coach of the Year.
