Matt Gigliello joins the men’s basketball staff for his second season in 2025-26.

Gigliello makes his way to Union from most recently St. Thomas Aquinas High School where he served as varsity assistant coach of the men’s basketball program for three seasons (2021-2023)

Prior to St. Thomas, Gigliello was the head boys' basketball coach at Woodbridge Township High School from 2013 to 2020 where he led the program to three 20-win seasons and compiled an overall record of 122-94.

Gigliello was also an assistant at St. Josephs Metuchen with head coach Dave Turco. During his time in the GMC, Gigliello saw many players go on to play college basketball at all three levels of the NCAA. Most notably (Karl Anthony Towns Kentucky and Quenton Decosey Temple).  

Gigliello played collegiately at Western New England University from 2002-2006 where he was All GNAC Academic Honoree. He graduated with a degree in Business Administration.
