Former Cougar Sydney Hixenbaugh joins the softball staff for her third season in 2026.

During her only season as a Student-Athlete at Kean, Hixenbaugh hit .411 with 21 RBI’s, 13 runs, seven doubles, five walks and four homeruns. In the circle, she made 17 appearances in the circle, and posted a 1.86 ERA with a 7-6 record, 57 strikeouts, nine complete games and two shutouts in 86.2 innings pitched.

Prior to Kean, Hixenbaugh was a three-year member of the Howard University softball team, where she captured the MEAC Championship in 2022. During her time with the Bison, she pitched in over 150 innings across 48 appearances and a 4.34 ERA overall, including a 2.12 ERA in 2022.

Hixenbaugh graduated with a B.S. in Health Sciences from Howard in 2022 and an M.A. in Human Behavioral and Organizational Psychology in 2024.
