Lorin Tredinnick comes to Kean after working at Rutgers-New Brunswick as a Learning and Development Supervisor in the School of Social Work and the Institute for Families.  In her role at RU, she managed statewide continuing education to enhance knowledge and skills of victim service providers, created a mandatory course that reviews Title IX compliance, coordinated community service projects and served as a Co-Principal Investigator to oversee a budget of federal grant funds.

Prior to her time at Rutgers, Tredinnick spent over two years at University of Connecticut.  While with the Huskies, she was an Academic Mentor in the Student Athlete Success Program. In Storrs, she provided academic support for at-risk student-athletes, facilitated accommodation requests and collaborated with academic counselors.

Tredinnick also was a training consultant and mentor in Violence Prevention at Northern University in Boston.

Tredinnick started her full-time career as a program coordinator in the School of Social Work and Institute for Families at Rutgers.

At Kean, Tredinnick will manage programming that assists the student athlete in career planning (Cougar Leadership Academy Workshop), manage student-athlete academic support (G.A.M.E.R Resource Plan) and manage workshop and training programs for Drugs, Alcohol, Counseling, Mental Health, and Sexual Abuse. She will also oversee the Student Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) and the Athletic Academic Advisors, while working with Career Services, the Division of Student Affairs and the Office of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion.

A professor and lecturer as well, Tredinnick has taught classes at UConn, Rutgers and American University. She is currently the secretary on the Executive Committee with the Alliance of Social Workers in Sport, a site Coordinator with the United States Tennis Association and on the research committee with N4A.  

She earned a B.A. in History & Sociology (2008) and a M.S.W. in Nonprofit & Public Management (2013) from Rutgers University. In 2020, she completed her PhD in Social Work from UConn.
