Keller Lifts Cougars to Castle Classic Title,

PURCHASE, N.Y. (11/18/06) - Senior guard Bryan Keller
(Piscataway, N.J.) scored a team-high 22 points to lead the Kean
University men's basketball team to the Castle Classic
Championship, as the Cougars defeated Saint Vincent College, 82-66,
at Manhattanville College on Saturday evening.
Under first-year head coach Sean Drennan, Kean (2-0) took at 43-31
lead at halftime, as the Cougars connected on 12-of-15 free throws
and 14-of-22 field goals in the opening half.
Early in the second half, the Cougars extended their lead to 52-32
just three minutes in behind three-pointers from senior Brett Wyatt
(Elizabeth, N.J.) and rookie Levan Tilly (Jersey City, N.J.) and a
pair of free throws from senior Bryan Miller (Trenton, N.J.).
Senior Lamar Wright (Galloway, N.J.) added 20 points on 5-of-7
shooting from the field and 8-of-10 from the charity stripe, while
Miller chipped in with 14 points, three assists and two steals off
the bench.
Keller and Wright were each named to the all-tournament team, while
senior guard Anthony Virgil (Montclair, N.J.) was tabbed tournament
MVP.
The Cougars host USMMA-Kings Point in their home opener on Tuesday,
November 21. Tip-off is set for 7 p.m.
