Field Hockey Handles Moravian, 4-1
BETHLEHEM, Pa. (9/26/06) - Kean University
senior forward Vicki Egerer (Washington, N.J.)
recorded one goal and three assists and freshman forward
Brittany Gibbs (West Deptford, N.J.) added two
goals and an assst, as the Cougars defeated host Moravian College,
4-1, in non-conference field hockey action on Tuesday afternoon.
With the win, the Cougars evened their record at 3-3, while the
Greyhounds dropped to 2-7 this season.
Gibbs netted the first two goals of the game, both off of assists
from Egerer, as the Cougars jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the opening
half.
After Moravian cut the deficit in half with a goal 10:56 into the
second half, Egerer answered with her only goal of the game off the
assist from Gibbs on a penalty corner.
Kean added the insurance goal late in the game, when freshman
Marcy Miller (Sewell, N.J.) scored off the assist
from Egerer.
The Cougars return to action on Saturday, September 30, when they
travel to Mahwah, N.J., for a New Jersey Athletic Conference
match-up against Ramapo College at 1 p.m.
