Women's Basketball Improves to 11-1
MIAMI, FLA. (1/2/07) - Senior Chi Clark (Maplewood, N.J.) led
all players with 18 points as the Kean University women's
basketball team improved to 11-1, defeating Gordon College, 84-48,
in the Florida Sunshine Classic.
Senior Ebony Allen (Camden, N.J.) recorded 11 points in 14
minutes while junior Kim Smith (Burlington, N.J.) had 10 points and
four rebounds.
The Cougars scored the first basket and never looked back,
leading by as many as 18 points in the first half. Clark paced Kean
with 14 first half points while nine other Cougars tallied points
in the first 20 minutes of action as the Cougars led by a score of
49-31 at the break.
Kean picked up the pace in the second half, leading by as many
as 36 points on three separate occasions, including the final
score.
The Cougars will conclude their trip in Florida with one more
game on Wednesday, January 3rd, taking on Husson College.
