Cougars Fall to King's, 74-60

WILKES BARRE, Pa. (01/06/07) - Senior guard Bryan Keller (Piscataway, N.J.) scored a team-high 11 points to lead three Cougars in double-figures, however the Kean University men's basketball team dropped a 74-60 decision to host King's College in non-conference action on Saturday evening.

Keller also finished with seven rebounds, three steals and two assists for the Cougars (9-4). Junior guard Jim Welsh (Philadelphia, Pa.) paced the Monarchs (7-6) with a game-high 20 points off the bench.

King's took a 31-16 lead at halftime, as junior guard Jamie Cousart (Holland, Pa.) and junior guard Kofi Dwebeng (Voorhees, N.J.) each scored seven points in the opening stanza.

For the Cougars, senior guards Bryan Miller (Trenton, N.J.) and Lamar Wright (Galloway, N.J.) each added 10 points, while senior forward Brett Wyatt (Elizabeth, N.J.) added eight points.

Kean returns to action on Monday, January 8, when the men's and women's basketball teams travel to John Jay College for a doubleheader. Men's tip-off is slated for 7 p.m.
