Women's Soccer Falls in NJAC Action to MSU
UNION, N.J. (10/10/07) - The Kean University
women's soccer team dropped a 3-0 decision to visiting Montclair
State University in New Jersey Athletic Conference action on
Wednesday evening.
The Cougars (7-5-2, 3-2-1) dropped their third straight game,
despite seven saves from sophomore goalkeeper Nicole
Groszew (Denville, N.J.).
MSU freshman forward Christyn Scillieri (Wayne,
N.J.) netted the lone first half goal, scoring from the
left side to take the 1-0 lead with just six minutes remaining in
the opening half.
The Red Hawks (5-7-1, 4-2 NJAC) added the first of two insurance
tallies quick in the second half, as sophomore forward
Natalia Sisti (Lincoln Park, N.J.) sent a pass to
freshman midfielder Katie Minervini (Oceanport,
N.J.) for the goal in the 48th minute of
action.
Just under 10 minutes later, Sisti scored the unassisted goal
for the final score of the game as the Red Hawks snapped a two-game
losing streak.
Kean returns to action on Saturday, October 13, when the Cougars
host NJAC leader The College of New Jersey at 7 p.m.
