Lions Shutout Kean In Men's Soccer Action,

(10/13/07) - The
College of New Jersey tallied two goals late in the second half to
defeat the Cougars, 2-0, Saturday afternoon in NJAC action.
TCNJ, which is ranked in a tie for 14th in Division
III, improved to 10-2-3 overall and 5-0-2 in the NJAC, while Kean
University is now 5-10 overall and 2-5 in conference action.
After playing to a scoreless first half, TCNJ got on the
scoreboard at 64:17 when senior Charlie Heydt
(Paramus,
N.J.) headed the ball in off a
feed from senior Craig Langan (Kings
Park,
N.Y.). At the 75:41 mark, TCNJ
sophomore forward Kevin Luber
(Delran,
N.J.) scored on a pass from sophomore
Anthony Staropoli
(Raritan,
N.J.).
In net for the Lions, senior Steve Scuttellaro (Brick,
N.J.) made 10 saves while sharing the shutout with fellow
senior Matt Kasperivicius
(Jackson,
N.J.) who added a save in the
match. Kean senior Kyle Crego (Ocean
City,
N.J.) made 7 saves in the outing.
The Cougars wil face off again on Monday, October 15th in
non-conference action against City College of New York at 7:30 p.m.
