2nd Half Surge Sends TCNJ Past Kean, 7-1
Ewing, N.J. (10/23/07) - The College of New
Jersey fired 24 shots on their way to defeating the Cougars, 7-1,
Tuesday evening in New Jersey Athletic Conference action.
With the win the Lions improve to 13-2 overall and 4-0 in the
NJAC. With the loss the Cougars fall to 9-5 and 2-3 in
conference play.
TCNJ got on the board in the 20th minute as Jackie
Gelinas scored her first goal of the season. The score would
remain 1-0 heading into halftime before the Lions put the game out
of reach tallying six goals in the second half.
Kean got their lone goal of the match at the 61 minute mark as
sophomore Julie Bachovchin (Piscataway, N.J.)
scored off a pass from freshman Brandee Brown (South
Plainfield, N.J.).
Sophomore Jenni Barry (Berkeley Heights, N.J.)
recorded 5 saves in goal for Kean in the loss.
The Cougars return home to take on Elmira College in
non-conference action on Saturday, October 27th at 6
p.m.
