Cougars Shutout Albright, 4-0
Union, N.J. (10/4/07)- Kean University
used a combination of three seniors to account for all their
scoring this evening as the Cougars snapped their four game skid by
defeating Albright College, 4-0, at Kean Alumni Stadium.
Kean (5-7) edged the Lions (4-6-2) in corners (4-2) and held a
16-9 advantage in shots.
The Cougars got things started quickly in the first half as
Damien Serafin (Wallington, N.J.) took a pass from
Anthony Tuesta (Clifton, N.J.) to notch what would
be the game-winner at 4:49. Just two minutes later,
Konrad Kruczek (Clifton, N.J.) collected a cross
from Tuesta to give Kean a 2-0 advantage. Tuesta would round
out the scoring in the first half with an unassisted goal at
33:28. Kruczek recorded his second goal of the match on an
assist by Serafin at 67:09 to seal the win.
Freshman Alfredo Oquendo (North Plainfield,
N.J.) picked up his first win in goal as he stopped three
shots. Junior keeper Wendell Hannaford (Huntington
Station, N.Y.) had seven saves in the loss for the Lions.
Kean will take on undefeated North Carolina Wesleyan on Sunday,
October 7th at 2 p.m. at East Campus.
