Ramapo Pushes Past Kean, 77-66
Phoenix, Ariz. (12/29/07) - The Kean University
men's basketball team dropped their third straight at the Cactus
Jam by falling to conference foe Ramapo College, 77-66, Saturday
morning at Phoenix College.
Freshman Keith Williams (Jersey City, N.J.) led
all players with 15 points while Tim Wesley led Ramapo (6-5) with
13 points in the win.
Both teams seesawed in the first half as the score was tied on six
different occasions with 14 separate lead changes.
Ultimately, Kean led by one going into the lockerroom at
halftime. Williams led the Cougars (3-8) with six first half points
while Dean Hughes (Pemberton,
N.J.) (pictured left) added five.
With just under 16 minutes remaining in the second half,
trailing by one (35-34), the Roadrunners took the lead for good
with a 13-0 run over the next three minutes. The Cougars
would pull within five as Sean Carter (Freehold,
N.J.) drilled a three-pointer with 5:08 remaining, but
that would be as close as KU would get.
Carter finished the day with 10 points and six rebounds while
teammate Shavon Hogges (Paterson, N.J.) seven
points.
Kean will take a few days off and return back to the eastcoast
to take on Baruch College in the new year on January
5th.
