Profs Push By Cougars, 19-7
UNION, N.J. (3/29/07) - Senior Shana
Smeriglio (Ocean, N.J.) and sophomore Lauren Crennan
(Pottstown, Pa.) each had a team-high four goals to lift Rowan
University to a 19-7 win over Kean University in women's lacrosse
non-conference action Thursday afternoon at Kean Alumni
Stadium.
With the win the Profs improve to 4-5 overall while the Cougars
fall to 2-3 with the loss.
Freshman Ashley Reynolds (Old Bridge, N.J.) had a
team-high five goals for the Cougars.
Kean recorded the game's first goal just over two minutes into the
game on an unassisted goal by Reynolds, but that would be the only
lead the Cougars would have in the afternoon. Rowan went on to
pound out 12 goals in the period, including seven straight. The
Profs led 12-3 at the half.
Rowan, who outshot Kean 38-24, was also led by senior Katie
Kline (Collingswood, N.J.) with three goals and an assist.
Junior Caitlin Meseroll (Oakhurst, N.J.) recorded
two goals and two assists.
For Kean, sophomore Stephanie Cirino (Warminster,
Pa.) had two goals in the loss.
Senior Katherine Rowland (Freehold, N.J.) and
sophomore Alicia Mannino (Richboro, Pa.) combined
for 10 saves for the Profs.
Kean will continue head to the road to take on Western Connecticut
State University in a rescheduled game this Sunday, April 1st at
noon.
