Men's Lacrosse Controls Medaille, 12-4
BUFFALO, N.Y. (4/7/07) - Junior attack
Dan Mondino (Boonton, N.J.) scored three goals and
freshman attack Scott Leathem (Fair Lawn, N.J.)
added two goals and three assists to lift the Kean University men's
lacrosse team to a 12-4 victory over Medaille College at the
University of Buffalo on Saturday afternoon.
The game, originally slated to be played at Medaille earlier in
the morning, was shifted to University of Buffalo North Campus due
to the weather and field conditions.
The Cougars (7-3) wasted little time taking control of the
contest, as senior attack Steve Gill (Patchogue,
N.Y.) scored off the assist from sophomore Chris
DeCarlo (Sandy, Utah) just 2:29 into the contest.
Kean added three more first-period goals and held a 7-1 lead at
halftime behind a pair of goals each from Mondino and Leathem.
Junior goalkeeper Dave Nichols (Florham Park,
N.J.) stopped 13 shots in the victory, while Gill added
two goals and two assists for the Cougars.
Medaille (0-6) received two goals and two assists from sophomore
midfielder David Bennett (Macedon, N.Y.), while
sophomore goalkeeper Ben Dlugosh (Palmyra, N.Y.)
made 23 saves.
The Cougars return to action on Monday, April 9, when they
travel to Reading, Pa., to take on Alvernia College in a 4 p.m.
non-conference game.
