Women's Soccer Posts 2-0 Shutout Over Drew
UNION, N.J. (09/12/07) - Junior forward Amanda
Pitts (Rahway, N.J.) tallied goal and an assist to lift
the Kean University women's soccer team to a 2-0 victory over Drew
University in non-conference action on Wednesday evening.
Kean (4-0-1) held a 26-2 advantage in shots, as Ranger keeper
Ann Mularz (Linden, N.J.) stopped 16 shots for
Drew (2-2-1).
Pitts staked the Cougars out to the 1-0 halftime lead, as she
scored off the assist from senior forward Michelle Fischer
(Scotch Plains, N.J.) in the 32nd minute.
With just under eight minutes remaining in the contest, Pitts
sent a pass through the defense to sophomore midfielder
Jenna Godwin (Kingwood, N.J.) for the insurance
tally with 7:58 left in the contest.
The Cougars open New Jersey Athletic Conference play on
Saturday, September 15, when they host Richard Stockton College at
6 p.m.
