Stockton Nets Two Over Kean in NJAC Opener

Altman (Beachwood, N.J.) scored the game-winner just over
23 minutes into the first half off an assist by senior Val
Davison (Cranbury, N.J.) as Richard Stockton College (5-0,
1-0 NJAC) picked up a 2-0 victory over Kean University (4-1-1, 0-1
NJAC) in women's soccer action Saturday evening at Kean Alumni
Stadium.
In what was a very physical matchup (35 combined fouls), the
Ospreys held the advantage in both corners (4-0) and shots (13-7).
Sophomore Laura O'Shea (Petersburg, N.J.) added
an insurance goal of a corner by Davison in the 74th
minute to seal the win for Stockton.
Junior netminder Alex Rogers (Medford,
N.J.) recorded five saves in the shutout while sophomore
Nicole Groszew (Denville, N.J.) had six saves for
the Cougars in their first loss of the season.
Kean returns to action on Monday as they travel to Lebanon
Valley College for a 4 p.m. start time while Stockton heads to The
College of New Jersey on Wednesday, September 19th.
