Cougars Shutout Ramapo, 4-0

Brittany Gibbs (West Deptford, N.J.) tallied two
goals, including the game-winner, as Kean University shutout Ramapo
College, 4-0, in New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) action
Tuesday night at Kean Alumni Stadium.
The Cougars (5-3, 1-1 NJAC) used a balanced attack recording two
goals in each half on their way to their first NJAC win of the
season. Kean held a 12-3 advantage in shots and edged Ramapo
(3-5, 1-1 NJAC), 8-6, in penalty corners.
Gibbs got things going just over six minutes into the game as she
tallied an unassisted goal. Freshman Amie Hoch (Egg
Harbor Twp., N.J.) gave Kean a 2-0 lead off a pass from
junior Katie McGee (Cherry Hill, N.J.). In
the second half junior Stephanie Cirino (Warminster,
Pa.) recorded Kean's third goal at 50:55 off another
assist from McGee in a penalty corner situation. The Cougars
rounded out the scoring with Gibbs' second goal of the game off an
assist from Cirino just over a minute later.
Sophomore Jenni Barry (Berkeley Heights, N.J.)
registered two saves for the Cougars while freshman Diana
Silva (Howell, N.J.) and sophomore Megan Tierney
(Wayne, N.J.) combined for five saves in the loss for the
Roadrunners.
Kean returns to action on Saturday, September 29th as
they travel to western Pennsylvania to take on St. Vincent College
at 11:30 a.m.
