NJCU Pushes Past Kean, 3-1

New Jersey City University tallied three goals by three different
Gothic Knights to pull past Kean University, 3-1, Wednesday
afternoon in New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) action.
The loss drops the Cougars to 4-5 overall and 2-2 in the NJAC
while the win keeps the Gothic Knights (8-2, 4-0 NJAC) undefeated
in conference play.
Kean's lone goal of the match was at 79:40 as senior
Anthony Tuesta (Clifton, N.J.) recorded an
unassisted tally in the box.
NJCU jumped out to a 3-0 lead as they registered two goals in
the first half and their final goal at 60:50.
The Gothic Knights edged Kean 14-12 in shots and held a 4-1
advantage in corners.
Freshman netminder Alfredo Oquendo (North Plainfield,
N.J.) had one save in 30 minutes of action in the loss
while freshman Andre Viola (Clifton, N.J.) had
eight in the win.
Kean will return to action on Saturday, September
29th as they take on Ramapo College at 1 p.m.
