Cougars Battle Ramapo to 0-0 Deadlock
MAHWAH, N.J. (9/29/07) - Sophomore
goalkeeper Nicole Groszew (Denville, N.J.) made 12
saves as the Kean University women's soccer team battled Ramapo
College to a double overtime scoreless tie in New Jersey Athletic
Conference action on Saturday afternoon.
Both teams managed 16 shots, with the Cougars (7-2-2, 3-1-1)
holding a slight 3-2 edge in the overtime periods over the
Roadrunners (7-4-1, 3-1-1).
All three extra session shots were on goal for the Cougars, as
Roadrunner goalkeeper Jessica DaRold preserved the
shutout and the tie with three saves.
DaRold stopped 11 shots on the afternoon for Ramapo.
The Cougars have a week off before traveling to upstate New York
to take on Nazareth College and LeMoyne College on Saturday and
Sunday, October 6 and 7.
