Green Scores Game-Winner in Final Minutes
of 2-1 Victory
UNION, N.J. (9/6/07) - Senior midfielder Alli
Green (West Deptford, N.J.) scored the game-winning goal
with less than four minutes remaining in the game to lift the Kean
University field hockey team to a 2-1 victory over FDU-Florham in
non-conference action on Thursday evening.
Green took the pass off the penalty corner from sophomore
forward Brittany Gibbs (West Deptford, N.J.) for
her first goal of the season with 3:18 left in the game.
After a scoreless first half of action, Kean (2-0) got on the
board first, as Gibbs scored off the assist from freshman
Joelle Vitale (Metuchen, N.J.) with 22:26 left in
contest.
Just 2:26 later, the Devils (1-2) tied the game when senior back
Kaitlyn Dudzinski (Lincroft, N.J.) converted the
penalty stroke.
In goal, sophomore Jenni Barry (Berkeley Heights,
N.J.) made four saves for Kean, while Devils junior
Jamie SanFilippo (Succasunna, N.J.) stopped six
shots.
FDU-Florham held a 17-12 advantage in penalty corners, including
a 13-4 edge in the first half, while Kean outshot the Devils,
16-14, for the game.
The Cougars return to action on Saturday, September 8, when they
travel to SUNY-New Paltz for a non-conference game at 1 p.m.
