Gibbs Pushes Kean Past Haverford,
2-1
Union, N.J. (10/11/08) - Junior Brittany Gibbs
(West Deptford, N.J.) scored the game-winner in the
60th minute to propel Kean past visiting Haverford
College, 2-1, Saturday evening at Kean Alumni Stadium.
With the win the Cougars pick up their 10th win of
the season (10-2) while the loss evens the Fords to 6-6 overall.
The Cougars jumped on the board early as junior Julie
Bachovchin (Piscataway, N.J.) (pictured right) notched an
unassisted goal at 4:12. Haverford responded later in the
half as Juliana Morgan-Trostle (Amherst, Mass.)
took a pass from freshman Josie Ferri (Yardley, Pa.) to
knot the game at one.
That's the way it would stand until Gibbs scored the go-ahead
goal at 60:20 off an assist from senior Katie McGee (Cherry
Hill, N.J.) from the top of the circle. The
goal is Gibbs' 40th of her career, tying the KU career
record with Vicki Egerer.
KU held an 18-5 advantage in shots, while also holding an edge
in penalty corners (15-6).
The Cougars return to action on Tuesday, October 14th
when they host Western Connecticut State University at 7:30 p.m.
