Cougars Fall to Maryville in
Arizona

Alysha Taylor (Galloway, N.J.) (pictured right)
scored a game-high 13 points, however the Kean University women's
basketball team dropped a 62-52 decision to Maryville University at
the Grand Canyon Classic on Monday afternoon.
Senior Megan McCabe (Columbia, Mo.) nearly had a
double-double with eight points and 10 rebounds, while also
contributing three assists and two steals for the Saints
(4-5).
The #8/9 Cougars (7-2) trailed by 10 points at halftime, 37-27,
as senior Kim Douglas (St. Peters, Mo.) came off the bench
to score eight points for Saints. Senior guard Ebony
Jackson (Newark, N.J.) tallied eight points and four
assists to lead the Cougars.
After trailing by as many as 17 points in the second half, the
Cougars pulled to within five points at 52-47 with 7:44 remaining,
as Taylor capped a 12-3 run with a three-pointer. The Saints
responded with seven unanswered points to push the lead back out to
double-digits en-route to the 10-point victory.
Junior guard Cardiss Jackman (Tobyhanna, Pa.)
added 11 points and three steals, while Jackson finished with 10
points and six assists.
The game was moved up a day since the Cougars' game against Lake
Forest College was postponed due to inclement weather that
prevented Lake Forest from arriving at the tournament as
scheduled. The game has been rescheduled for Wednesday,
December 31, at 9:30 a.m. (EST).
