Women's Lacrosse Cruises Past Hood, 23-6
FREDERICK, Md. (3/17/08) - Junior attack Stephanie
Cirino (Warminster, Pa.) (pictured right) scored a
game-high six goals to help lead the Kean University women's
lacrosse team to a 23-6 victory over host Hood College on Monday
afternoon.
Senior Alli Green (West Deptford, N.J.) added
five goals and an assists in the Cougars (4-1) third straight win.
After Hood pulled within 9-4 with 9:09 remaining in the opening
half, Kean netted 14 straight goals spanning the first and second
halves to build a 23-4 lead late in the second half. Hood
netted a pair of goals in the final minute to put the final score
at 23-6.
Freshman Rosalia Romeo (Ridgewood, N.J.) added
five goals, while classmate Amanda South (Fairless Hills,
Pa.) added two goals and two assists.
Sophomore Chelsea Davis (Livingston, N.J.)
(pictured left) had a solid afternoon with two goals, one assist
and five draw controls.
In goal, freshman Ashlie Berghold (Boyertown,
Pa.) made six saves in the victory.
The Cougars return home on Wednesday, March 19, when they host
Lasell College at 1 p.m.
