Kean Falls in Women's Lacrosse, 10-9
PURCHASE, N.Y. (3/21/08) - Freshman Brandee Brown
(South Plainfield, N.J.) scored a team-high four goals,
however the Manhattanville College women's lacrosse team rallied
past Kean University for a 10-9 victory in non-conference action on
Friday afternoon.
Cory Alcorn (Orangeville, Ontario) netted the
game-winning goal for the Valiants (2-2) with 32 seconds left to
lead Manhattanville back from a 8-5 second-half deficit
The Cougars (5-2) scored five straight goals, including three
from Brown (pictured right), to take an 8-4 lead before
Manhattanville responded with a goal at the halftime buzzer to pull
within three at intermission.
Manhattanville then outscored the Cougars 5-1 in the second half
to win their second game of the year.
For the Cougars, rookie Amanda South (Fairless Hills,
Pa.) had one goal and two assists, while senior
Alli Green (West Deptford, N.J.) added one goal
and one assist.
In goal, freshman Ashlie Berghold (Boyertown,
Pa.) stopped 11 Valiant shots.
Kean returns to action on Tuesday, March 25, when they travel to
Chestnut Hill College for a 4 p.m. game.
