Cougars Edge Eastern, 11-7

Gillar (Milltown, N.J.) recorded six points with two goals
and four assists to lead Kean University over Eastern University,
11-7, Saturday afternoon.
After falling behind, 5-3 at halftime, the Cougars mounted a
comeback and rallied for six goals in the third period to take a
9-6 lead. Anthony Bertucci (Edison, N.J.)
(pictured right) tied things up at five-all with 10:33 remaining in
the third period. He again recorded what would be the winning
goal with 4:02 left in the third.
Offensively sophomore Scott Leathem (Fair Lawn,
N.J.) tallied two goals and an assist in the win for the
Cougars who improve to 6-3 overall. In goal senior
Dave Nichols (Florham Park, N.J.) registered 10
saves.
Kean returns to action on Tuesday, April 1st when
they return home to take on Castleton State College at 4 p.m.
