Kean Rolls to 20-1 Victory Over
Cedar Crest
UNION, N.J. (4/24/08) - Freshman Amanda
South (Fairless, Pa.) had four goals and an assist to lead
the Kean University women's lacrosse team to a 20-1 victory over
Cedar Crest College on Thursday evening.
The Cougars (12-5) held a 45-11 advantage in shots over Cedar
Crest (2-14), as they scored at least 20 goals for the second
straight game, while holding their opponents to three goals or
less.
For the Falcons, sophomore keeper Devin Ursini
(Downingtown, Pa.) made 19 saves.
In the opening half, Kean raced out to an 11-0 lead at halftime,
as junior attack Stephanie Cirino (Warminster, Pa.)
led the way with three goals. South, freshman
Rosalia Romeo (Ridgewood, N.J.) and senior
Alli Green (West Deptford, N.J.) each added two
goals and an assist in the first half.
Sophomore attack Bailey Bedell (Westbrook, Maine) got
the Falcons on board, scoring off the assist from sophomore
Mackenzie Lee (Bar Harbor, Maine) a little over three
minutes into the second half, before the Cougars scored the final
eight goals of the game.
Cirino and freshman Erica Kelly (West Deptford,
N.J.) (pictured right) each finished with four goals,
while Green added three goals and an assist. Sophomore
Chelsea Davis (Livingston, N.J.) had five
groundballs, four draw controls and three caused turnovers in the
victory.
The Cougars close out the regular season on Saturday, April 26,
when they take on College of Mount Saint Vincent in the Skyline
Conference regular season finale.
