TCNJ Pushes Past Kean, 2-0
Union, N.J. (9/20/08) - Senior Chris
Nelan (Haddon Heights, N.J.) scored what would be the
game-winner as The College of New Jersey shutout Kean in the NJAC
opener for both, 2-0, Saturday evening at Kean Alumni Stadium.
Nelan scored TCNJ's (5-3-1, 1-0 NJAC) first goal of the match in
the 13th minute off an assist from junior Kevin
Luber (Delran, N.J.). The match would stay like that
until junior Brian Galicia (Brick, N.J.) headed a ball from
freshman Ray Nelan (Haddon Heights, N.J.) at
66:23.
Kean, who outshot the Lions, 15-9, falls to 4-4-1 overall and
0-1 in the New Jersey Athletic Conference.
TCNJ keeper Eric Goldwaser (Wyckoff, N.J.) had
seven stops while sophomore Alfredo Oquendo (North
Plainfield, N.J.) had one in the loss for the Cougars.
Kean will return to NJAC action on Wednesday, September
24th as they host New Jersey City University at 7:30
p.m. while TCNJ hosts the Profs of Rowan University on the same day
at the same time.
