Men's Soccer Holds City Tech

Coram, N.Y. (9/6/08) - Freshman Andres Berriel
(Las Piedras, Uruguay) tallied two goals late as Kean
shutout New York City College of Technology, 4-0, in the St.
Joseph's College-L.I. Tournament on Saturday afternoon.
The Cougars, who improve to 2-1-1 will face host St. Joseph's on
Sunday at 3 p.m. in the championship.
Junior Rob Sopko (Lake Como, N.J.) tallied an
unassisted goal in the 10th minute for what would be the
winning goal. The score would remain at 1-0 until the
65th minute as sophomore Adam Bajek (Clifton,
N.J.) took a pass from junior Sebastian Baison
(Hillside, N.J.) to give KU a 2-0 cushion. Berriel
(pictured right) added two goals, one at 75:24 and another from
Nunno Pacano (Olney, Md.) at 82:14.
Netminder Alfredo Oquendo (North Plainfield,
N.J.) recorded two saves in the shutout.
The Cougars who outshot City Tech, 29-10, also held an 8-2
advantage in corners.
