SEWELL, N.J. (1/14/09) - Junior guards Cardiss Jackman (Tobyhanna, Pa.) and Alysha Taylor (Galloway, N.J.) combined to score 48 points to lead the Kean University women's basketball team to a 106-43 New Jersey Athletic Conference victory over Rutgers-Camden at Gloucester County College on Wednesday evening.

Jackman scored a game-high 25 points and Taylor (pictured right) added 23 points on the strength of a career-high seven three-pointers, as the #24 Cougars (12-3, 5-0 NJAC) eclipsed the 100-point mark for the first time this season.  Senior guard Shamira McNair (Pennsauken, N.J.) led the Scarlet Raptors (1-12, 0-4 NJAC) with 11 points.

After the Cougars opened the game on a 21-0 run, Rutgers-Camden pulled to within 11 points at 37-26 with 68 seconds remaining in the half before Kean scored the final five points of the half to extend the lead back out to 16 points (42-26) at the break.

Sophomore forward Angelica Bermudez (Belleville, N.J.) netted 10 first-half points for the Cougars, while Jackman followed with nine points and three steals in the opening half.  McNair paced Rutgers-Camden with eight points.

In the second half, the Cougars used a 29-0 run midway through the half to break the game open en-route to the 63-point victory for their largest win of the season.

Taylor added six rebounds, four assists and four steals, while Jackman knocked down three treys and also had four steals.

Also in double-figures for Kean, senior guard Ebony Jackson (Newark, N.J.) finished with 18 points, four assists and four steals, while Bermudez (pictured left) added 12 points and three assists.

The Cougars return to action on Saturday, January 17, when they travel to New Jersey City University in conference action at 2 p.m.
