#9 Rowan Shuts Down Kean, 6-0

Ross recorded a hat-trick as #9 Rowan University defeated the
Kean University field hockey team, 6-0, Saturday afternoon.
Rowan improves to 9-4 overall and remains undefeated in the New
Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) with a 4-0 mark. The win
snapped the Cougars' six game win streak. Kean is 10-2
overall and 2-1 in conference action.
Rowan outshot Kean, 20-2. For the Cougars, Lauren
Dobbs (Palmyra, N.J.) turned away 12 shots. Goalie
Lisa Apt (Mays Landing, N.J.) started in the Profs' cage
and had one save. Goalie Jen Goldberg (Clark, N.J.)
stopped one shot in the final 8:28.
The Profs were ahead 3-0 after the first half. Valianti
knocked in a rebound for the first goal at 6:24. Ross
(Gloucester City, N.J.) scored her first goal 20 minutes
later. Her second came at 30:58 when she tipped in a shot by
O'Neill.
Kean returns home to face Montclair State University on Tuesday,
October 20th at 7:30 p.m.
