Stockton, 3-2
POMONA, N.J. (10/24/09) - The Kean University
men's soccer team dropped a tough 3-2 decision to host Richard
Stockton College in New Jersey Athletic Conference action on
Saturday afternoon.
The Cougars (6-8-4, 1-6-1 NJAC) tied the game up twice in the
opening half, before a Stockton goal by Rafael Duarte (Ocean
City, N.J.) just 20 seconds into the second half proved to be
the game-winner.
All four first half goals were scored within a 10-minute
span. The Ospreys took a 1-0 lead in the 18th
minute when Sean McCallum (Vineland, N.J.) scored off the
assist from Felipe Duarte (Ocean City, N.J.).
Kean sophomore Erick Solis (Summit, N.J.) tied
the game at 1-1 when he scored off the assist from rookie
Daniel Favorito (Curitiba, Brazil) in the
24th minute.
Just 30 seconds later, McCallum scored again off the assist from
Duarte to regain the lead at 2-1, before sophomore Dennis
Correia (Elizabeth, N.J.) (pictured right) knotted the
game back up when he took a pass from freshman Michael
Custidiano (Hawthorne, N.J.).
For the Cougars, junior Alfredo Oquendo (North Plainfield, N.J.)
stopped four shots, while Stockton goalkeeper Lou Herring
(Freehold, N.J.) made three saves.
