Men's Soccer Falls in
Double-Overtime, 2-1
Ewing, N.J. (9/19/09) - The College of New Jersey's
Anthony Staropoli headed the ball off a corner in
double-overtime to secure the 2-1 win for the Lions' over Kean in
NJAC action on Saturday afternoon.
Kean (4-3-1, 0-1 NJAC) scored the match's first goal in the
20th minute as freshman Guilherme Argollo (Rio
de Janeiro, Brazil) (pictured right) off a pass from
teammate Tiago Goetzke (Curitiba, Brazil) to gain an early 1-0
lead.
But the Lions clawed their way back and tied things up with just
over five minutes to go in regulation thanks to an Ed Kozic
(Raritan, N.J.) second effort attempt.
Junior Alfredo Oquendo (North Plainfield, N.J.)
made seven saves in net for the Cougars in the loss.
Kean visits conference opponent New Jersey City University on
