Rutgers-Camden Edges Men's Soccer,

Union, N.J. (9/26/09) - Senior Jake Vollman
(Stratford, N.J.) scored the match's only goal with under
seven minutes in regulation as Rutgers-Camden defeated Kean
University, 1-0, Saturday afternoon in NJAC action.
In an evenly matched affair, Vollman took a cross from junior
Rhyan Nelson (Manalapan, N.J.), beat his defender and shot
from the left side of the field into the back-right of the net at
83:22 to send the Scarlet Raptors (4-4-2, 1-1-1 NJAC) to the
victory.
The Cougars (4-4-1, 0-2-1 NJAC) were held without any corner
opportunities, but out-shot Camden, 16-10.
Junior keeper Alfredo Oquendo (North Plainfield,
N.J.) made two saves while sophomore Tim
VanLiew (Deptford, N.J.) had four stops in the shutout
win.
Kean will travel to take on NJAC foe Montclair State University
on Wednesday, September 30th at 7 p.m.
