Men's Soccer Battles to
Double-Overtime Tie
Newport News, Va. (9/4/09) - For the first time
since September of last season the Cougars posted their second
consecutive shutout, as the men's soccer team battled to a
double-overtime tie with Virginia Wesleyan at Christopher Newport
University Friday evening.
Junior Alfredo Oquendo (North Plainfield, N.J.)
tallied six saves in 110 minutes of action, including an early rush
of shots in the first half.
Kean's best scoring opportunity came in the 75th
minute as senior Pedro Zamora (New Brunswick,
N.J.) launched a shot off the crossbar.
KU had 24 players in action in the double-overtime match as they
head into action again on Saturday, September 5th when
they take on host Christopher Newport University at 7:30 p.m.
