Beyruti's Record Day Sends Kean

Beyruti (Union City, N.J.) notched a new KU single-game
record 10 treys as #5/7 Kean won their thirteenth straight by
defeating host Lycoming College, 76-52, Sunday afternoon in the
Hoops for Hounds Tournament.
Beyruti, who finished with 30 points, was named to her second
all-tournament team this week as well as rookie Naimah
Clemons (Newark,
N.J.) as Kean improved to 13-1.
Beyruti (pictured right) broke her own record of nine
three-pointers set back in January of 2007.
Junior Tiffany Patrick
(Piscataway,
N.J.) scored the game's first
basket as the Cougars didn't look back, keeping the lead
throughout. Lycoming (2-10) kept close through the first 13
minutes of action before KU pulled out to a 12 point lead on
Beyruti's fifth trey of the first half with 4:25 to go. The
Cougars closed out the first 20 minutes of action with a 37-27
advantage. Beyruti had 18 points on six three-pointers while
Patrick added eight rebounds.
The Cougars controlled the second half and led by as many as 25 as
Beyruti again notched one from behind the arc, her ninth of the
afternoon, with 5:46 remaining in the contest.
Patrick (pictured left) ended the game with eight points and 10
rebounds while Clemons added nine points and six assists as 16
players saw action.
Kean will now return to NJAC action as they travel to Rowan
University on Wednesday, January 6th.
