Goetzke's Game Winner Sends Kean to NJAC Win

Newark, N.J. (10/6/10) – Sophomore Tiago Goetzke recorded his sixth game-winner of the season as the Kean University men's soccer team defeated Rutgers-Newark, 1-0, Wednesday evening.

In a match originally scheduled for September 22nd, Goetzke scored the match's lone goal in the 61st minute.  Goetzke (pictured right) took a through pass and after a loss ball beat the charging Newark keeper.

With the win the Cougars improve to 4-1 in NJAC action and 7-4-1 overall.

Freshman Tyler Callahan made seven saves for Kean in the win.

The Cougars and Scarlet Raiders were evenly matched with 17 shots a piece, with Kean holding a 7-2 advantage in corner kicks.
