Scranton, Pa. (10/6/10) – The Kean
University women's soccer team scored three first half goals on
their way to a 4-1 victory over Marywood University on Wednesday
night.
With the win, the Cougars improve to 8-2-2 on the season while
the Pacers' record drops to 7-4-1.
The Cougars were able to break through in the 20th minute when
Randi Vizoco won the ball off a Marywood defender,
walked in on a breakaway, and scored into the upper part of the
net. Kean doubled their advantage in the 33rd minute when

Seidel slid a thru-ball to Ashley
DiRocco, who finished low to the far past. Kristen
Hager sent KU into halftime with a 3-0 lead when she
scored unassisted after a scramble in the box with 3:39 left to
play in the period.
Erin Jones got Marywood on the board with a goal in the
75th minute.
Danielle
Esposito (pictured right) put the match away when she
took a headed thru-ball from Samantha
Ciccone and scored to the far post with just over
three minutes to play.
The Cougars held a 16-10 edge in shots for the game while Marywood
had four corner kicks to Kean's three.
Leandra
Russo finished the evening with three saves in Kean's
net to pick up the win while Meghan Coyle turned aside
five shots in a losing effort.
