UNION, N.J. (10/8/10) – The Kean University
women's soccer team battled Rutgers-Newark to a 0-0 double
overtime tie in New Jersey Athletic Conference action on Friday
evening.
The Cougars (8-2-3, 2-1-2 NJAC) held a 22-14 edge in shots in
the game, as Kean goalie Leandra Russo (pictured
right) stopped five shots and junior goalkeeper Kat
Renteria made nine saves for the Scarlet Raiders (4-6-3, 1-2-2
NJAC).
Kean held a 9-2 edge in shots in the first half, while both team
had five corner kicks.
The game was originally scheduled for September 22, with the
Cougars taking an early 1-0 lead in that contest before a lightning

replayed in its entirety.
The Cougars return to action on Wednesday, October 13, when they
travel to Montclair State University for a NJAC game at 7 p.m.
