Women's Lacrosse Falls to Ramapo,
13-11
Union, N.J (3/24/10) – Ramapo College
scored seven straight goals in the second half to erase a 9-6
halftime deficit and defeat Kean University, 13-11, Wednesday
afternoon in both Skyline and NJAC action for both.
Freshman Adrianna Tepedino (Freehold, N.J.) led the
Roadrunners (4-1, 2-0 Skyline, 1-0 NJAC) with five goals, four in
the second half. Freshman Lyndsey Cannon (Delran,
N.J.) led the Cougars (2-5, 1-1 Skyline, 0-1 NJAC) with
four goals.
Kean controlled the first half, scoring the match's first
goal and didn't trail for the next 30 minutes. The
Cougars held a three goal advantage on three different occasions
late in the half as junior Amanda South (Fairless Hills,
Pa.) recorded two goals and senior Chelsea Davis
(Livingston, N.J.) closed out the first half with her
second goal to give Kean a 9-6 lead.
But the Roadrunners responded scoring seven straight unanswered
goals in the first 19 plus minutes of action in the second half to
take the lead and secure the win. Tepedino tied the game on
an unassisted goal with 25:26 to go and added another in a string
of three to take the lead with 20 minutes remaining.
Kean scored the final two goals of the match with under six
minutes to go, but it wasn't enough as Ramapo defeated Kean
for the first time in the program's four-year history.
The Cougars return to action on Wednesday, March 31st
at 7 p.m.
