Triano's Hat Trick Helps Kean Past Wesley, 4-3

Dover, Del. (10/2/11) – Senior Olivia Triano recorded the tying and game-winning goals as the Kean University field hockey team defeated Wesley College, 4-3, Sunday afternoon.

Triano finished with three goals as Kean improves to 6-3 overall this season.  The loss drops the Wolverines to 7-5.

Both teams see-sawed in the first 35 minutes of action battling to a 2-2 tie at the intermission.  Sophomore Stephanie Soares tied things up at one-all off a cross from junior Kelly Bachovchin.  Triano then tied the game at two-all in the 27th minute on an unassisted goal.

Wesley went ahead for the last time just two minutes into the second half before Triano knotted the match at three-all with a hard shot from the top of the circle off a penalty corner pass from Soares.  Triano then scored the game-winner at 54:48 with an unassisted goal.

Sophomore Erin Langan registered seven saves in the win.

Kean returns to action on Tuesday when they host FDU-Florham at 7:30 p.m.
