Dover, Del. (10/2/11) – Senior Olivia Triano recorded the tying and game-winning goals as the Kean University field hockey team defeated Wesley College, 4-3, Sunday afternoon.
Triano finished with three goals as Kean improves to 6-3 overall this season. The loss drops the Wolverines to 7-5.
Both teams see-sawed in the first 35 minutes of action battling to a 2-2 tie at the intermission. Sophomore Stephanie Soares tied things up at one-all off a cross from junior Kelly Bachovchin. Triano then tied the game at two-all in the 27th minute on an unassisted goal.
Wesley went ahead for the last time just two minutes into the second half before Triano knotted the match at three-all with a hard shot from the top of the circle off a penalty corner pass from Soares. Triano then scored the game-winner at 54:48 with an unassisted goal.
Sophomore Erin Langan registered seven saves in the win.
Kean returns to action on Tuesday when they host FDU-Florham at 7:30 p.m.
