UNION, N.J. (10/8/11) – The Kean
University men's soccer team netted two first-half goals
en-route to a 2-0 win over Berkeley College (N.J.) on Saturday
evening.
The Cougars (8-3-2) held a slight 13-11 advantage in shots,
while Berkeley (2-11) had a 6-4 edge in corner kicks.
Kean took a 1-0 lead in the 22nd minute when junior
Albert Dul headed in the direct kick from freshman
Tulio Pinto.
The Cougars extended the lead to 2-0 later in the half, as
Erickson Simeon scored his team-leading eighth
goal of the season off the assist from freshman Pat
Foley with just over 10 minutes left in the first
half.
Freshman goalkeeper Nick Pavlichko (pictured
left) made five saves in the complete game shutout, while Berkeley
keeper Jesus Solis stopped five shots.
Kean travels to Montclair State University on Wednesday, October
12, for a 3 p.m. match.
