MADISON, N.J. (3/24/11) – The Drew
University men's lacrosse team defeated visiting Kean
University, 9-4, in non-conference action on Thursday evening.
Sophomore attack Scott Humphreys scored three goals for
the Rangers (3-2), while junior Nick Angrisani
netted two goals for Kean (4-3).
Trailing 1-0, the Cougars picked up back-to-back goals from
Angrisani (pictured left) to take a 2-1 lead after the first
quarter. Both teams traded goals early in the second quarter
before the Rangers tallied two to take a slim 4-3 lead into the
break.
Drew then took over in the third quarter outscoring the Cougars,
3-1, to head into the fourth quarter with a 7-4 advantage.
The Rangers tacked on two more goals in the fourth period to
seal the win.
For Kean, senior Chris Masiulis had a team-high
seven groundballs and Tom Clifford added one goal
and one assist, while sophomore Lane Zierten made
six saves in goal.
In the win, midfielder Mark Barus had two goals and an
assist, while midfielder Sean McGowan had seven
groundballs. In goal, Charlie DeSocio stopped 11
shots.
Kean hosts College of Mount Saint Vincent in the Skyline
Conference opener on Saturday, March 26, at 4 p.m.
