NEWARK, N.J. (3/5/11) – Rookie Christian Portera had 10 kills, however the Kean University men's volleyball team fell to Rutgers-Newark in non-conference volleyball action on Saturday afternoon.

The Division I Scarlet Raiders (12-3) won in straight sets (25-13, 25-17, 25-23) behind 10 kills and seven digs from Kenneth de Groh. 

For the Cougars (7-16), junior Sam Haimann had 17 assists and a match-high eight digs, while freshman Tom Kemmerle added six digs.

Kean returns to action on Monday, March 7, when the Cougars travel to York (N.Y.) for a 7 p.m. match.
