Game Recap: Men's Soccer |

Men's Soccer Handles Hunter, 4-1

UNION, N.J. (9/14/11) – The Kean University men's soccer team scored a pair of goals in each half en-route to the 4-1 victory over visiting Hunter College in  non-conference action on Wednesday evening.

Junior midfielder Kharee Winslow had a goal and an assist for the Cougars (3-1-2), while Mario Rojas scored the lone goal for the Hawks (0-4-1).

The Cougars took an early 2-0 lead less than seven minutes into the game, as rookie Tulio Pinto scored off the assist from Winslow just 5:27 into the game, before junior Tiago Goetzke extended the lead to 2-0 less than a minute later, scoring off the pass from freshman Erickson Simeon.

Kean against clustered two more goals together later in the second half, as junior Sheldon Palmer (pictured left) scored in the 74th minute and Winslow added an unassisted goal in the 77th minute.

The Hawks avoided the shutout with less than two minutes left when Rojas scored off the breakaway pass from senior Anthony Intrabartolo.

In the victory, the Cougars held a 19-4 advantage in shots and 7-1 edge in corner kicks.

Goalkeeper Zade Haobsh made seven saves for the Hawks.

The Cougars open New Jersey Athletic Conference action on Saturday, September 17, when they travel to Richard Stockton College.  Game time is set for 1 p.m.
