BOSTON, Mass. (9/24/11) - The Kean University field hockey team received goals from four different players in posting a 6-0 victory over Wheelock College in non-conference action on Saturday evening.
Senior Olivia Triano and sophomore Stephanie Soares each had two goals and an assist in the victory for the Cougars (5-3), who scored three goals in the final 10 minutes of the game.
Junior Kelly Bachovchin scored what would be the game-winning goal at the 22:35 mark, scoring off the assist from sophomore Julie Knodt. Soares would extend the lead to 2-0 with a goal just two seconds before halftime.
In the second half, Triano netted both of her goals, while Soares and sophomore Korri Thompson also added goals.
Bachovchin finished with a goal and an assist, while Knodt (pictured left) had two assists.
Kean held a commanding 32-1 advantage in shots and a 17-0 edge in penalty corners.
Goalkeeper Michelle Greene made 14 saves for Wheelock (1-8).
