CAMDEN, N.J. (9/24/11) – Junior forward Carly Seidel scored twice and senior forward Danielle Esposito added a goal and an assist to lift the Kean University women's soccer team to a 3-0 win over Rutgers-Camden in New Jersey Athletic Conference action on Saturday afternoon.
The Cougars (6-2-1, 3-0 NJAC) limited the Scarlet Raptors(0-5-1, 0-2 NJAC) to just two shots in the game.
Seidel (pictured left) gave the Cougars a 1-0 lead midway through the first half, when she headed in the chip from the right side by Esposito.
Late in the second half, Seidel extended the lead to 2-0 with the unassisted goal following a miss-cleared ball in the box in the 77th minute. Just 74 seconds later, Esposito added the breakaway goal off the assist from junior Caitlin Carey.
The Cougars held a 21-2 advantage in shots and a 5-1 edge in corner kicks.
For Rutgers-Camden, goalkeepers Leighanna Milby and Katie Angelosante combined to make seven saves.
The Cougars host New Jersey City University on Wednesday, September 28, in NJAC action at 7:30 pm.
