COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (9/3/11) – The
Kean University men's soccer team battled host Colorado
College to a 1-1 tie in non-conference action on Saturday
afternoon.
Sophomore Tyler Callahan made seven saves in 110 minutes of
action for the Cougars (1-0-1). Both teams had 16 shots in
the contest, with the Cougars holding a 4-1 edge in the overtime
sessions over Colorado (1-0-1)
The Cougars took a 1-0 lead at halftime, as senior Erick
Solis headed in the direct kick from Michael
Custidiano to the far post in the 32nd
minute.
Colorado tied the game early on in the second half, as Sean
Parham scored off the double assist from Daniel
Wright and Matt Fechter in the 59th
minute.
The Tigers held a 12-8 advantage in shots in the second half, as
Callahan made six of his seven stops in that period.
Kean now faces University of Minnesota – Morris on the
campus of Colorado College on Sunday afternoon at 3 p.m. (Eastern
Time).
